I'm Steve, owner of SoiRank and 1418. I've been building, fixing and ranking websites since 2009.

I first visited Thailand in 2008, went back in 2009 and 2010, then moved there full time in 2011. I was a partner at a real estate agency in Sathorn, running digital marketing, which in practice meant web design, development, SEO and social media as well. I built, ranked and maintained over two hundred condo, apartment and office websites. That's where I actually learned Bangkok.

I've been through Google's Panda and Penguin updates, and now the shift to AI search. None of it feels like more work to me. Each one is just another thing to learn.

School costs brought us back to the UK a few years ago, but I go back to Thailand regularly. Most recently in August 2026. This time to Hua Hin, Bangkok and Chaiyaphum.
